Codman Hakim Valve
The Codman Judge Programmable Valve has 18 pressure ranges. These intervals provide the surgeon with the ability to make subtle changes in opening pressure. Each setting can be made quickly and easily via the programming device.

Shunt valves have a precision mechanical design. The valves are manufactured using Swiss watch industry micro technologies using spring tensions calibrated with 1/1000 mm precision.

After valves are assembled, they are tested five times before they are released to ensure they meet stringent performance standards.

There are horizontal, burrhole, anti-siphon, reservoir and micro types.
Sold as a single valve or as a kit with catheters.

Codman Certas Valve
The CERTAS™ Plus Programmable Valve offers adjustment of the opening pressure of a valve system before and after implantation. The condition of a patient with a shunt will change frequently throughout their treatment and pressure changes will be necessary. The CERTAS Plus Programmable Valve allows the surgeon to change the opening pressure to one of eight performance settings ranging from 1 (low pressure) to 7 (high pressure).

It also allows it to non-invasively change to the performance setting 8, which is "Virtual Off".

Tests show that the valve mechanism is resistant to undesirable changes in setting on a 3 Tesla MRI.

CERTAS Plus Programmable Valve has three different main options such as flat type regular and horizontal type mini and burr hole. Each option is also available in an anti-siphon version. It is also sold as a kit with a single valve or catheter.

All models have a reservoir.

There are also types of catheter kits with antibiotics attached to the valve.

With the programming device, it can be seen to which pressure level the valve on the patient's head has been previously set. This information is valuable for subsequent pressure adjustments.
